Mortise and Tenon

Today we made progress with building tool boxes while thinking about how we will build the Virginia, Maine's first ship. A few of us started to put the first coat of color over the prime coat in the Virginia's media office, which will be used for the Virginia's media and marketing purposes. Part of our boatbuilding team practiced rowing, while others stayed to finish painting and our toolboxes. Chewbacca, our shop dog, was watching us every second of the day and correcting us to make sure we made no mistakes.

Video Tips:
1.  Never move the camera
2.  Don't pan or zoom
3.  Take 7-10 second clips
History: The original leader of the Popham colony was George Popham. The colony had a rough winter, but that wasn't the reason they had to leave. One of the reasons why is that their new leader, Raleigh Gilbert, decided to take the colony back to England.

Ship making Vocab word: Mortise-A piece of wood that has a hole cut into it, that is designed to fit a projection from a tenon.
Tenon-A projecting piece of wood made to fit into a mortise.
